Ok I found a site it was a thread from a interviewer I followed that to the people he was talking to and on that site it said that.
(This is not ecactly what they said.) In the Tokyo game show 2007 Square Enix told Japanese video gameing magazine Famitsu that they were coming out with 27 or so games 11 of them remakes. The interveiwer asked them if they planned on remakeing Final Fantasy 7 and they replied saying: A remake for FFVII is not a matter of if its a matter of when but right now we are cought up working on the FFXIII saga but we have plans for later to remake Final Fantasy VII as well as VIII and IX. The magazine was Famitsu it is in japanese so I can not read it but if you can find a out how to translate it take a look and I found the thread by doing a search for "remake of Final fantasy 7,8 and 9" (I used Google.) if you still can not find it I am sorry but this was the best I could do. So there getting remade sounds like good news to me. |

I think that remakes are only good for new players who haven't played the original ones. I can't speak for everyone, but that's how I and couple of my friends see it.
Ps1 and snes games weren't that advanced yet (graphically), excluding FMV sequences. So, you have to kind of imagine the athmosphere, character voices/facial expressions etc. in these games + add a good soundtrack. This is what makes these games unique. Kind of middle ground of book and movie. If you try to remake these games by adding only better graphics, it's is not good IMO. It only loses it's original charm... I would love to play remake of any of these games, IF they are made completely differently comparing to old ones. Only the story would be the same. + lot of extra stuff to do... I just don't think this would be the likely scenario. |

I completely agree with you. I have way too many attachments to the games as they are, others might appreciate the remake more than I would. I'd be excited to see these remakes and would eagerly play them, but they'd never ever replace the old ones.

in the remakes are they going to change something or it will be the same exact story in a more beautifull and less pixeled world ??

I have no idea what they intend to do in the remake but what I am thinking is that they will give it new graphics and mybe give it voice acting.

if they do do it, it will be better graphics, vopice acting and different battle system more than likely.
but im standing with zaki on this one lol, if they did announce it at TGS alot more would be in the press, and you would find it in gamesites like IGN

I think a remake of 7 is much desired and needed a remake of 8 is soarly needed and remake of 9 would be a waste. Great update. Thanks. Can you site the source though?

remake of ffVII would be great...hope it's true. but like althea said the original can never be replaced by it...even though I'd dearly hope for it.

That is a no. A remake would include things like better graphics and my be voices and nowing Square Enix more then likely and few new boss' with no true story purpose but would this make us never go back and play VII or VIII and IX for that matter no it does not matter what they did to the VII remake every fan of the original would go back and play it agian even if to only see what they left and did not leave in the remake so no matter what a remake does in it a fan will always go back to the original.
