Me too man. I think my warranty is up too. But it won't be so bad I guess. I can retrieve my profile from XBOX Live and hopefully I'll be able to at least keep the hard drive and transfer the saved game files by way of Memory Unit. Which by the way my 360 stopped reading.

Ouch guys...the red rings of death is harsh. I did see a video on Youtube about a "towel trick" that people use when the get the rings that is supposed to make your Xbox work for a little while longer. If I come across it again I will post the link on here.

I've seen the towel trick, actually. From what I gather it only makes your 360 work anywhere from five hours to a day before it overheats again. My 360 died so long ago though that there is nothing I can do about it, as I got rid of it once I learned I couldn't get it replaced.

Yea but the thing is the red ring is always due to the system overheating, so sometimes that towel trick doesn't work.

Well the reason you guys are getting the Red Rings of Death is because you play constantly. You see I'll play for about a day or 2 and than not play for like a couple days. This balances it out. I have not gotten the Red Ring at all since getting my 360.

i play constantly have it running almost 24/7 had it since uk release and have not once got red rings, i simply have it on the ground on some card.

My cousin just got his 360 (I share it with him) for Christmas and I'm curious if there's a way to stop these "Red Rings of Death" besides not playing for a few days... I'd hate for his to overheat since we've got games like Left 4 Dead and Tales of Vesperia.

Anywho, we just made our X-Box Live account a couple days ago, and our gamertag is StainedDragoon. As for games we have that are playable on Live (that I know of) they are these:
Left 4 Dead
Soul Calibur 4
Sega Superstars Tennis

We also have Tales of Vesperia and The Last Remnant but I don't think those offer online play
