What's the most famous FF character?

Who are the top ten most famous Final Fantasy characters in your opinion? Please, try to include reasons why.

1) Cloud. He's the ultimate hero, and FFs signiture character, the hair, the costume. Everything.

2) Sephiroth. He killed Aerith, one of the most infamous VG scenes ever, work it out.

3) Aerith. Sephiroth killed her, one of the most infamous VG scenes ever.

4) Squall. He's been in KH and has a legion of fangirls.

5) Vincent. Army of fangirls. Own game.

6) Tifa. Army of fanboys. Huge boobs.

7) Auron. Resident badass of FFX. Army of fanboys and girls.

8) Yuna. Heroine of FFX and FFX2.

9) Tidus. FFX and FFX2 revolve around him.

10) Vivi. When people think of a black mage, they think of Vivi.

1. Cloud - He is one of, if not the first character that comes to mind when thinking of the FF universe. He is also featured in more games that any other character. (FF VII, FF Crisis Core, FF Dirge of Cerberus, FF Tactics, KH I and II, Ehrgeiz)

2. Zack - He is one of the least and at the same time best known characters. He was Clouds mentor and friend as well the owner of the Buster Blade before Cloud. Unless you played FF VII and watched the cut scenes you have never found Zack. (FF VII, FF Crisis Core, Ehrgeiz)

3. Vincent Valentine - He had some of the best limit breaks in FF VII and also he is one of the biggest mysteries of the game. His side quest to the waterfall and the cut scene that followed added much information to the story of his personality. (FF VII, FF VII Dirge of Cerberus, Ehrgeiz)

4. Kefka - Who can forget the crazy, evil clown of instead of wanting to rule the world, he wanted to destroy it. There is also the very annoying laugh of his that is unforgettable. (FF VI)

5. Shadow - The original ninja and a great character to have in your party. Learning his back story through his dreams was also a great experience. (FF VI)

6. Sephiroth - One of the most bothersome bosses of any game. With each fight he gets stronger and learns new abilities. The final fight with him is one of the longest battles in the FF universe. (FF VII, FF Crisis Core, KH I and II, Ehrgeiz)

7. Cecil - A very unique character. He is also one of the strongest starter characters, at lvl 10, he then later becomes lvl 1. He becomes lvl 1 when his job is switched from Dark Knight to Paladin. (FF IV)

8. Ramza - He is a character who has a great story line. He is also in a game that allows you to change his class as you see fit. He is a character who has to battle people he once thought of as friends and also his brothers.

9. Aerith - One of the best and strongest characters in the game up until she is killed in a very dramatic final scene. Her final limit break is one of legend, and also one that will make anyone who took the time to get it when she is killed.(FF VII, FF Crisis Core, KH I and II)

i definatly wouldnt call ramza one of the most well known characters cause not that many people have played tactics mainly cause it was rubbish.

shocked you havnt said anyone past ff7, i mean alot of people playing now wouldnt have played the older games, well 3 and below now its been rereleased and iv soon, but mmm interesting

The newer games in my opinion are good but not as good as the beginning. To me VIII was a major disappointment. The story was the only part of the game that made up for lack of something more. IX was a great game, that is overlooked by far too many due to the cell-shaded graphics. X was a very visual appealing game with a great story and new characters as well as a new lvl-up system, over I believe is to be a great game, the only downside to this game was the horrendously short playtime. I finished 100% in less than 70hrs. XI, I don't even consider this to be part of the FF universe. XII was great, the return of the job class and customization system made this game a cross between Kingdom Hearts and Tactics. I'm looking forward to the release of XIII in the near future.

Tactics is a game that has to be played for long hrs. to understand the appeal of the game as a whole. The story was one of the best of the time. It also revived the job class system which ended with FF V. This is also one of the longest games around to finish 100%, I spent around 150-160hrs.

Actually the 2 most famous of all the characters from the FF universe may surprise most but here they are.

1. Chocobo
2. Moogle

And I guess I would also have to mention the character by the name Cid. There has been a character by the name Cid in every FF up to FF VIII.
